Web Browser – The web browser or Internet browser is the instrument that allows Internet users to navigate or surf between the different pages of their favorite websites. It is a piece of software that has a graphical interface basically made up of navigation buttons, an address bar, a status bar (generally at the bottom of the window), and most of it, in the center, which is used to display the web pages that are accessed.
In the main part of the web browser, where we see the web page, we find the scroll bars (or scrollbar, in English) located on the right and at the bottom. They allow you to scroll the web page when it is larger than the display area.
Types of Web Browsers
The world revolves around the Internet; that is an unavoidable truth. For better or for worse, depending on how we look at it, the network of networks is currently the fastest, safest, and most practical method of doing things. From searching for information about anything to contacting family and friends through social networks to buying goods and paying for services, among many other actions, the Internet is the method that has replaced the old way of doing things.
Internet browsers always meet the sole objective of allowing us to access the Internet wherever we are, regardless of our platform.
That is why there are currently two main web browsers: Desktop and mobile. This allows us to find styles of browsers specifically designed for Windows, Linux, iOS, macOS, Android, or Windows Mobile.
From now on, and to have a larger picture of the browser offer, we will review the best desktop and mobile web browsers currently on the market.
Google Chrome
Google’s web browser is a sophisticated tool that allows us to surf the Internet safely and quickly. Being a development of the Mountain View company implies that it is the best of all browsers in terms of compatibility with added Google services, such as Gmail, Google Drive, and others. It includes the possibility of adding plugins, of which there are thousands in the browser’s own store, and also offers a private browsing mode.
Google Chrome is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac and for mobile phones with iOS and Android.
Mozilla Firefox
Another great web browser, chosen by millions of users around the world. Like Chrome, the Firefox web browser is fast and stable, includes private browsing, and offers the ability to add features through plugins, which can be downloaded for free from the Mozilla store for Firefox. Mozilla Firefox is available for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android phones.
Opera
Despite being an excellent browser that is very fast and does not consume many computer resources, Opera is not as popular as Firefox or Chrome. There are several reasons for this. However, the most obvious is custom. Either way, Opera is just as good as any of the above and, in many ways, even better.
Opera is free and is accessible aimed at Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android smartphones.
Safari
Safari is the default browser on Apple computers and portable devices. According to its developers, it is much faster, more stable, and consumes less battery than Chrome and Firefox. It can also be extended with plugins and offers a private browsing mode.
Safari is free and installed by default on Apple devices that support it.
Microsoft Edge
The evolution of Microsoft Explorer began to be distributed with the new versions of the Windows operating system. Microsoft Edge is an original web browser with many improvements over the much-criticized Explorer. It is fast and stable, and you can also extend its possibilities through add-ons, which can be downloaded for free in the Microsoft store.
Edge is free and only available for Windows 10, the operating system installed by default.
Maxthon
Maxthon is a relatively new web browser on the market. However, it offers several interesting features, enough that more than 670 million users use it daily as their main browser. Safe, clean, and with an excellent integrated system to eliminate pop-up windows and ads. Maxthon is undoubtedly an excellent alternative when we are not completely convinced by the proposals of the usual companies.
Maxthon is free and available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
Vivaldi
Vivaldi is another modern web browser that tries to stray a little from the ordinary. That is why it offers certain aesthetic characteristics that differentiate it from the rest. Such as the fact that the browser changes color according to the tonality of the page to which we have access. However, the developers of Vivaldi have not only focused on aesthetics since it is a fast, efficient Internet browser that consumes few resources. Even so, it manages to have a good number of exciting features.
Vivaldi is free and offers browser versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Dolphin Browser
Even though we have browsers such as Chrome or Firefox available for our cell phones, the truth is that it is possible that they do not offer us exactly what we need, and we require alternatives. This is where browsers like Dolphin Browser come in, with features and options such as voice control, synchronization of tabs and bookmarks, plugins, and much more. Stable and secure, Dolphin Browser may be the answer we were looking for for our mobile devices.
